How on earth they can get away with that when thomann.de are charging just 990 euro for an 8HD (that's £665... oh bugger, I can feel my resistance crumbling...)

Hmm. Perhaps we need a new topic - Fusion Pricewatch? :)

I'd like to thank you all for the support, but this is Belgium, not the US. If you bought something and you're not happy with it, you can't just take it back after 8 months. We have the saying 'Customer is King', but I didn't notice any of that yet.
Actually, I'm based in the UK, and EU laws apply ...

Silly question - but have you checked the sensitivity isn't set to "hit me with an anvil"?

bazz, given that you only bought it in October (8 months ago), you should be able to take it back to the store and tell them to either give you a new one, ex stock, or your money back - under EU consumer legislation. You contracted with them, not Alesis, and to be honest it sounds as though the ...

However there are no Fusion 8HDs to be had in the UK below £879
How quickly things change - they've dropped their price to £800 now. Which if you're in the market for an 88-key keyboard with a decent synth attached to it, is surely far too much of a bargain to ignore...!

Put it this way, if I ...

I'm tired of everyone trying to hush anyone who's saying something "bad" about Alesis.
Personally I'm sick of ignorant people with overinflated feelings of entitlement, who scream "help! help! I'm being oppressed!" every time someone disagrees with them. In fact, it annoys me a hell of a lot more ...

Are you, by any chance, looking for the Link Track function, so that you can play more than one synth track at once from the keyboard?

That threw me too. :)

It's not entirely isolated, though - dv247 have the Fusion 6HD listed at £625 at the moment, and Anderton's have it for £600 . But my guess is that it's more a reflection of the weak dollar than anything else.

However there are no Fusion 8HDs to be had in the UK below £879 - perhaps the 8HD is ...

I distinctly remember reading that the sample playback engine on the Fusion was limited to four velocity layers. Is this not true?
It is in program mode, but mix or song modes are a way to override that restriction.
In fact, I'm misleading you now... in fact, the restriction to 4 velocity layers ...

Well being a GS3 user with some very very good piano libs, as well as a grand piano owner, I think it's real clear that the Fusion lacks the capability to do a decent piano.
Just out of interest, does this mean that you don't think anything short of Gigasampler can "do a decent piano"?
A really ...

Ah, but if you post your mix, one of us might be able to pin it down... it's been known to happen. ;)
