Hello...fellow enthusiast here, just picked up a 8HD for a fantastic deal and I love the beast...already familiar with the manual and whatnot from other Alesis products, which I've owned since day one...lots of cool things will come from this board... I'm going to post a few technical questions as I get going..bear with me...cheers! IRob

Welcome! :)

I sometimes think about upgrading my 6HD to an 8HD.

If you are actually a Piano player, then the 8HD will delight you. The Keybed is superb (IMHO), and with the adjustments you can make to the touch response in the global menu, you can get expression in your playing in bucket loads. 88 notes completes the illusion. Its a heavy beast though - and by the time its in a flight case - you need to be built like two seperate gorillas to carry it round.

I love mine to bits - and secretly dream of getting a 6HD to go with it - just for the portability . . .

Best Regards

My 6HD is already surpriringly heavy especially when you consider that it's smaller than the usual 61 key workstations (wheels above they keys, etc.).

Yes indeed, 'coz it is largely made of that famous old-fashioned construction material - METAL

The way the economy is headed over here - Fusions will soon be worth more as scrap metal - than as a Workstation . . . . .
