The trouble is (as has been discussed here before), it can be difficult to get the sales droids in some dealers to even switch the damned things on, let alone navigate to the HS noises

At the Sam Ash Store (a major chain over here in the usa) where I purchased my Fusion, the sales guy said "Man... we should have you come in and do a Fusion clinic for us"
Of course I'd loved too (once I knew how to sample, work the sequencer and edit the patches)

We just picked up another Fusion 8HD there as well. This one was for the church I play at... they didn't want me having to carry mine around (sweet).
While I was picking the new one up... I turned to my sales rep and said "I guess I'm the only one buying the Fusions from you" he said "Actually I sold a 6HD just the other day".

Perhaps there's some Fusion Fever going around after all!

I've had my Fusion 6HD since JUST last week and, with the upgrade to 1.24, I'm loving this thing. I've only made about 4 songs, but folks are loving the sound of the unit (one of my buddies will probably have one in his studio before long...lol).

The sales rep tried to talk me out of buying the board at a local GC, but I ignored him when he touted the greatness of a lesser (than the Triton Extreme) Korg keyboard.

This forum helped me to make the decision and I'm glad that I went with Alesis. New sounds....new life in the studio for the kid!

Hollow Sun's sounds? Can't wait to load 'em up!! One thing....If I'm reading correctly (in the online instructions), once I load up Hollow Sun's sounds, will my preset banks will be "replaced"?

Hey fused!

Your banks should be ok. When you load HS banks (and other 3rd party banks) it's like an endless supply of banks. You just scroll through the categories and then select the bank you want!

Also.. save the sounds you like in your user folder cause when you load them all there's a
lot and you run across some really cool stuff but then you don't know where to find it.

Have fun with your Fusion... I really enjoy mine.

But don't think so, since the sample format has been discovered. It will only take months before a tool gets developed that converts fusion samples to plain waves (or other formats)

I know I'm all over the place with this user group-waited a long time researching this instrument before banking on another supposed "obsolete" workstation-I have kept a few and haven't regretted it, and once again have discovered another classic keeper.

But not why I'm adding yet another post.

I'm new here, but in case some of you other newbies have no knowledge of who Steve Howell was, and are tempted to complain about-well anything really....look up his legacy. Now when I sit down and play a sound, I hear a soul. And if I'm feeling too self-important-i try to remember whose shoulders I'm standing on to-see the next sunrise and sunset. Happy New Year everyone, may it be a better one.
