Lipi's programs for the Fusion

Post by Jokeyman123 »

http://users.atw.hu/lipi/fusiondownloads.html

Lipi is the programmer who developed the Fusioner programs for converting Nord, SY-1 and DX FM sounds for playing in the Fusions, onr aspect of the Fusion that triggered me to buy mine. What I did not realize until last week-he also has a huge database of Fusion programs, which I am gearing up to audition, a monumental taks given he has 25,000 (!!!) programs in 267 banks, yikes! He describes some as possibly not so wonderful as some of these were auto-generated by software, but still, whew! I'm posting because.........

1) I'd like to know if anyone here has tried any of these-like I need more programs and mixes-but still the temptation to try these is too great for my feeble OCD musical brain!!!! And

2)-should I try to install all 276 banks in one shot???? Can the Fusion do this? I feel like I'm asking if I can fit a 426 hemi with dual quad carbs in my scooter....if I had a scooter-or a 426 hemi. :violence-chainsaw: :violence-hammer:

WITHOUT knowing for sure - I would LIKE to say that PROVIDED the HD has sufficient capacity, then the answer is almost certainly YES . . .

The Fusion does not have the same constraints on SPACE that many other Synths have . . . .

Whether or not you have the STAMINA to navigate the resulting list of Banks - is quite another matter - I'm sure you'll agree??

I would suggest that you do them at least - in small batches . . . .

The <verify all> might be a BIG ASK for 276 Banks x 128 Programs - in ONE Go . . . .

Yes Chris-a few banks at a time-if even that-might take months, just want to see what was accomplished here with these banks, although hard to imagine anything better than what I've auditioned so far with KPR, Hollow Sun, Klaus's programs, MovinPro. Might be a few-and these are all just afp files-no mixes or samples so I am curious what these programmers were able to come up with without any sample-based sounds. I ran a duplicate file finder program through these, and discovered 1000 (!) duplicates. but erasing these-would require editing all the bank.txt files since banks would be missing programs and not in any sequence. So I'll try a few. Jesse, anything special or different about the ones you have tried?

Thanks Jesse-what I needed is a starting point like this. Where did the pdf chart come from? I still tend to go with printing out stuff-must be my generation-I still like to read things on a piece of paper-must be the tactile thing-having something not in the cloud makes it more real-why I am not too enthralled with virtual...anything. Nothing like the real thing baby!!

You are welcome JD, I made the PDF chart last night after listening to some of the programs.

Glad you find it helpful :)

Jesse-another mystery-out of the hundreds of folders in the download I posted, and where I found my sounds on Lipi's website-the ones you have are nowhere in this download Lipi currently has-must be another collection he had somewhere. The other curious thing-none of the programs in this download have samples, mixes or multi-samples. i checked almost all the folders-nothing. All these programs are simply afp programs-either (so far) FM or analog sounds which is fine. I played through one set-a few interesting analog and FM programs, some so-so. But no samples attached to any of these. He must have had a different set of sounds available before these banks. No big dea,l will probably still be a huge collection of variations on what is already available, and maybe a few totally different. Definitely worth having.

Thanks Jesse-my file-the file online I found-is only 100MB, yours is 250MB, quite a difference. Obviously something is not there in the website file I have downloaded, I'm downloading yours right now. Will check it out as soon as i can. This should keep me busy for awhile!

Yep Jesse. With the correct sample database, this is a beautiful collection of programs for the Fusion. i also posted something about the "Internet" folder included with Lipi's original large download-as this curiously does have a sample-based set of programs with the correctly mapped samples and multisamples-including a pretty impressive selection of Yamaha-based grand piano sounds-that do not take up too much sample memory-not quite as authentic as the HG pianos-but different, very playable IMO.
