This is about the Alesis V149 keyboard controller. Does the manual (I assume it has one) have any directions for programming the controls manually without the software? I don't have this one, but a few of my other controllers can establish control change and even sysex messages using the keyboard controls without editing software. I'd have to study the manual to see if this is an alternative for the V149.
Some DAW's can "autosense" the controller connected to the computer through USB-and establish the ability to assign the correct control change messages in their software to aspects of what you need to do-panning, levels of volume, DSP depth etc. as a default "template" for controlling your DAW, without a separate "branded" editor librarian. but the Alesis also has to have that ability in order for the software DAW to correctly detect which model it is. the only other alternative I can think of-is to obtain a universal editor/librarian such as Midiquest which has profiles for many synths/workstations/controllers but is a bit expensive for controlling just one hardware controller. Another possibility-look up
www.ctrlr.org-this website has user designed and submitted software "front-ends" for specific and hard to find hardware midi keyboards and modules. foor example, I found a really good software program there to access almost everything for my Roland MC-505 called simply "Groovebox Editor". Looks like a nice piece of kit, good luck with it.
[Whoops - Sorry Folks - thought you were asking about the Fusion]
