New Fusion Bank . . . . . .

Post by parametric »

One of my colleagues on yamahamusicians just pointed this out . . . . .

https://www.inspireuplift.com/Alesis-Fu ... /iu/282992

scroll down for banks for other synths - reasonable prices . . . .

I can think of worse ways to spend 10 bucks . . . .

Awesome sounds :)

Unfortunately the link to purchase them does not work, but they are here on the LFO website

https://lfo.store/shop/hardware-synths/ ... nt-sounds/

https://www.youtube.com/@LFOstore

The link worked in Microsoft Edge, but not in Google Chrome because I had an adblocker running :(
Once I removed the adblocker it worked in Chrome :)

Jesse-something wrong here-I paid, went to their Inspire Uplift page, created an account-but the download-did you actually get it? All I'm downloading/getting is a very small zipfile when unzipped is a .txt file that simply says "download this file"! and i used your last links.

OK got it, the https link worked, I overlooked that. When I finish my TP40 restoration-sometime this evening around 2-3 AM, I will try these out. :o :o :o I just received my broken QS8 with a TP20 key assembly, which apparently now i won't need, but if I can get a new mainboard for the QS-8.......or it is always good to have some spare alesis parts around, since Alesis doesn't!!!! I may end up liking the TP20 action better than the priginal 40, if it fits which will be anytime now. Phew. Would have been easier building my own still...making my own white lightning, which I could use a gulp or two right now.

Wait a minute-Jesse, Chris did you look at these yet? This outfit is selling Hollow Sun and other sounds we already have here. am I wrong? I just looked through the volume and this is what I found...
Hollow Sun 1-10
Klaus Schultz sounds
Nebulae (again Hollow Sun)

I think they are ripping off for sale-sounds we already have here-and is in violation of Hollow Sun's estate which I do not think would like to see Steve's hard work turned to cash for someone else. I feel like I've just been robbed of 10 bucks-could have bought me a cup of coffee and donut, or a mason jar of white lightning!!!!! From the read on this web, I thought we might see some new and interesting sounds-instead, i see a rehash of what jeese and Chris have already archived here. If I am off base, let me know.

Hmm . . . .

THAT is NOT Nice. I did listen to the demo and have to say that I heard nothing much unfamiliar (i.e New?)

nebulae IS indeed a HollowSun, as is nebulous . . . .A few of the others on that list do look familiar

in a similar way . . .

I'll punt out a note to Mario @ hollowsun and see what he says . . . .

It's indeed sad - as this behaviour is PRECISELY what made Steve stop supporting the Fusion . . . .

Other stuff on offer is of interest in Yamahamusicians atm - NAMELY THE cS1x, the AN1x and for you joe, the

Alesis ion/micron Banks perhaps?

Here jesse-look in the multisamples folder-and samples folder, here is a screenshot of the samples folder-I checked and double-checked the download-I also see a folder that describes "preset 5"-I have all these soundfiles already-courtesy of you Jesse-that archived all these. Unless you gave him permission to sell these sounds-something isn't right here. Every single sound-including the ones you are showing in your capture-we already have here! look at the "KS" sounds-these are Klaus Schultz sounds-that might also be copyright protected-by Klaus Schultz! Houston-I think we have a problem. I could be wrong.....I don't think it is ethical that whoever this is can sell these sounds-that have been uploaded and archived right here by you-and might already belong to Steve's estate-and Klaus Schultz's. Maybe KPR can weigh in on this if he notices these posts.

I've emailed Mario at HS and await his reply . . .

I linked to the YT video - which also I think has a link to LFO who are selling the Bank . . .

I think I saw recently that Klaus Schultz is no longer with us :(

That of course doesn't excuse pirating his Programs . . . . :naughty:

Steve always maintained that HIS Programs, despite being free - were NOT to be redistributed without permission.

I have too much respect for Steve's memory, his widow and if he had children-to protect his work-if his estate gave LFO permission of course this is good for them-but if not this is clearly a violation of Steve's estate-and possibly Klaus Schultz-yes I had posted on Klaus's passing just recently. It also hurts people like Klaus Rausch who obviously has worked very hard at providing sample libraries for others as have othercreators who need to make a living at this. 10.00 US might not seem too much individually, but if this company ends up making a sizeable amount of sales-and they might-if it was up to me, Steve's estate should be given the money, if not for legal reasons, for ethical ones. having just finished my work as my mom's executor and also one who made a living as a musican and teacher, I guess I'm even more sensitive. when I post my work online I make it very clear-not for sale without my permission, and most group's moderators seem to respect this otherwise I would not post anything.

I wasn't expecting this-I thought for a little money at least there might be some new original programming here, but I have not come across anything that is not already available here-that I do not already have installed-in short there is absolutely nothing original in this collection at all, this company has taken all the programs already here, from the many independent programmers that had already posted here and at the promusic user group-and literally has stolen other's work to make money-with no credit to the rightful creators. I feel most unfortunate to have discovered this, wish I hadn't really.

I bought it and I already had almost all sounds. Some they modified, others they just added lots of reverb and maybe there are a few new ones. Anyway the description said it was a "best of" free programs, tuned up. It not really worth it though, in my opinion.

Responses to my emails . . . .

Mario Krušelj from HollowSun . . . .
Hello!
Thanks for letting me know. I’m not really sure about what all Steve’s Fusion banks contained so it’s hard for me to place any judgment here. What I do know is that LFO Store usually does terrific soundbanks for almost any synth out there…

I suppose the only real way would be to purchase the bank and then compare the contained samples etc… but I don’t have a Fusion so I can’t do anything about it. However, if any of you want to go down that rabbit hole, please let me know and if it ends up being true I will contact LFO Store and request that they pull the soundbank from the market.

Cheers!
