This is very bad news, if here are no more supplies even with InstrumentalMusic, and i checked MPCStuff-same problem (these used the same supply).

I think the only hope is to-and I've posted this here already-find some company or tech who can repair your supply or manufacture one. I think most of the parts could be sourced-the one big difficulty I saw after studying my supplies-the transformer-as these are unfortunately very specifically manufactured for the different voltage feeds that come off the stepped-down transformer coil. If you were fairly advanced in electronics troubleshooting and repair-or know someone who is-you might be able to circuit trace to see if one of the easier to replace parts is reducing the power supply-I would suspect the caps first-transformers are usually pretty sturdy unless the coils burn out completely-but you are still getting some voltages-so it may be an intermediary part that has deteriorated. Even one bad cap could be causing voltage failures-would act as a short in the entire supply.

You might try calling InstrumentalMusic directly-and see if one of the techs might be able to search their warehouse for one of these supplies. Would certainly be a shame of our Fusions became doorstops simply because the power supply cannot be duplicated or repaired. it is, probably one of the least complicated parts in the Fusion which makes this all the more aggravating. If my supplies went bad-I would try to research the possibility of finding a savvy tech or company online that can troubleshoot and repair a supply such as these. i even thought of doing some research on Youtube-see if there is some tech there who would be willing to repair these, or even manufacture a few. Got to be someone out there that can. I've built rudimentary supplies myself years back for AC line to DC, but without a schematic, I can't tell what the specs are for certain parts-such as the coil and transformer, otherwise, i would build one myself. Haven;t completely ruled out trying. little pressed for time now, settling my mom's estate-a pretty challenging time.

Some good advice about the capacitors used in a switching PSU

moozle.downunder wrote: Sat Jan 04, 2014 10:21 am Hi

Just a quick observation: If you're replacing failed capacitors on switchmode power supplies ensure you replace them with low-ESR (effective series resistance) capacitors with at least the same temperature rating. Using off the shelf parts may lead to early failure.

You can order these from a number of electronic outlets or from specialist mail order stores such as thecapking.com or badcaps.net.

Hopefully these power supplies predate the whole lead-free solder mandate or you'll need a temperature controlled iron too - lead-free solder has a higher melting point that conventional lead/tin.
